It just doesn't seem to pay to get out of bed
Another frustrating trudge
Plodding under the weight

As you shuffle past the face of indifference
Lost in thought
of that which you cannot remember
You hope that once

You could smile at your life

You waken from your stupor
Rubbing the years from your weary eyes
the newborn stirs within you
Content with anticipation
Of absolutely nothing at all

Rose-colored glasses only get in the way
As you watch the world unfold before you
The warmth of the morning sun
gently whispers the world awake
And suddenly without realizing it
You realize
